As a hotel business environmentally friendly business a very big challenge. Unfortunately, practice shows far too often that painful compromises have to be made again and again in order to be able to work economically.
In a place like Graal-Müritz, surrounded by... breathtakingly beautiful nature, has to be awareness of sustainability be lived by all of us. Guests and hosts have the same responsibility here and only together can we make a difference to help many more generations Beauty of this region and the whole world to obtain.
We have taken another important step and had our company thoroughly examined. With great effort, invoices and statistics were evaluated to find out how climate-friendly our hotel is.

What we do
Having your own business checked for climate efficiency was one big and important step. We now know where we stand and that a start has been made. Much more important, however, are the small, everyday steps that are tedious and seem so ineffective.
But right there, in everyday life and on a small scale is the big lever to find the decisive effect. If many people do just a few small things differently together, every day, then it becomes one noticeable effect have on all of our lives together.
As already mentioned before, a hotel business is always a Battle between ecological and economic decisions. We have to protect our nature so that our guests continue to want to vacation here. However, we must not lose sight of our cost structure. That's why we're always looking for small and at the same time sensible measures.
We are already doing this:

- Separation of our guests' waste by the housekeeping team (as best as possible)
- Saving on heating costs through modern insulation and an attentive housekeeping team
- Saving on electricity costs through motion detectors, timers, twilight switches
- Walking or cycling to work (if distance allows)
- Smaller purchases, errands and disposal of old glass with the cargo bike
- optimized ordering system to avoid unnecessary journeys
- fewer online orders, more purchases at regional retailers
- Printer and toilet paper made from recycled paper
- all print media with CO2-neutral printing on partly recycled paper
- Reuse the backs of printed paper
- Avoid one-sided printing
- Digitization of guest traffic, duty planning, ordering, communication, administration, accounting

What can you do?
The decision to join as a hotel business Sustainability issue It wasn't difficult for us to ask; rather, we found it to be one natural duty. Sustainable mobility
There are many ways to get around on holiday without harming the environment and thus acting sustainably. This is not a problem for holidaymakers, especially in Graal-Müritz.
With the perfectly developed cycling and hiking trails, you can marvel at nature and visit some beautiful places without having to drive off.
But the surrounding towns, such as Rostock, Stralsund or, as an attraction, Karl's strawberry farm, which now even has its own stop, can be reached quickly from Graal-Müritz, even without a car. Graal-Müritz has a train station from which a train runs every hour to Rostock, especially during the summer season. The train to Stralsund can only be reached with one change in Rövershagen.

Experiencing something and traveling sustainably is very easy. We have picked out a few options for you.
On the one hand, the most obvious thing would of course be to spend a day on the beach, which is within walking distance of the hotel and offers you pure relaxation.
Furthermore, we already have some great ones for you Cycling & hiking trails presented, these are particularly good for exploring the coastal landscape and the region. You can admire nature in all its splendor because you come to the most beautiful places.
A visit to the Western Pomerania Lagoon Landscape National Park should not be missed during your holiday with us, as it offers numerous opportunities to discover nature. Explore the national park on your own or with a guided tour, both are possible here, but you can also use the paths by bike.
Why is sustainable travel so important?
Sustainable travel is becoming increasingly important and is therefore an important component for us. The entire Baltic Sea resort of Graal-Müritz is concerned about sustainability and environmental protection. We also stand for sustainable tourism, as the demands of both tourists and locals should be met and the natural landscape is the feel-good factor of our region. Both the type of arrival and departure play a big role, but in general the sustainable thinking of the individual is what makes it happen.
Because especially on vacation, relaxation is the most important thing and where can you do that better than in nature.
